Other Bench rest Shooting events held at the Canberra Rifle Club include "open Class" from portable benches and special events like the picture above which is the 2000 Xmas cake shoot at 600m. Seated is Frank Rose (visiting from Germany)and standing is Herb Valerius. On every Saturday afternoon at the Canberra Rifle Club they shoot "Open Class". Portable benches are used and the shooter has a choice of target, either the normal fullbore target or the F Class target. Ranges vary from 300m to 800m. A different range is shot on each week. Usually 2 targets per shooter, 2 sighters and 10 shots for score on each target. Paid target markers are used. Each shot is marked in the usual manner of Fullbore shooting.
